Characters boring and pace too slow
It has taken me so long to write this review, because the book just didn't inspire me to keep reading and I'm afraid I didn't finish. I kept holding off the review, in case I did get round to finishing, but I'm sorry I couldn't.
The plot was slow, I read about a third of the book and the crisis for the main characters had already been revealed, but up to where I'd read the couple were just not speaking to each other.
I didn't find the characters engaging at all, they we're quite flat and boring, I thought the setting would engage me a bit more, but no.
I don't like leaving negative reviews, and I'm sure this is more of a question of my personal taste rather than poor writing, after all Jean Fullerton has an extremely successful career, but for me, I like my novels edgier and faster-paced.
