'A Ration book Childhood' is a book set in the war years in London's East End, mainly based around the Brogan family. Ida married to Jerimiah for 25 years, they have three daughters, Mattie, Cathy & Jo, and two sons, Charlie & Billy, with an expanding family. Ida's family disapproved of her initial courtship with Jerimiah, but he eventually won them around. Years on, and Ida's oldest friend returns, with a secret which threatens the strong bond of the Brogan family. Times were difficult for the Brogan family, both emotionally and with rationing in the blitz.

It's one of those genres generally you either like or, not your preference. Typically not my choice of genre, having said that, I enjoyed reading this book from the first page to the last. It makes you smile and think.
It's well written, story line constantly keeps you interested in what's going to happen next.

Great read, look forward to reading more from this author. It's a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me.
