The story follows Ida Brogan and her family struggling with life amidst the bombing raids in London. This is until one day her friend Ellen returns carrying a secret from the past that could threaten her marriage to Jerimiah. With Christmas coming can she forgive her friend and help a little boy. I don't want to ruin the plot but it's well worth a read.
This book was enjoyable to read and the storyline grabbed you from the start. It has been so well written that you find yourself engrossed in her family life and can imagine what life was like during the blitz for all ages and families. You can tell it has been well researched. I now want to read more of Jean Fullerton's books as she has written a few more.
