I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy this book much as I do admit it's not my usual kind of read. However, I was very intrigued after reading the first impression and I'm really glad that I decided to read this one. It definitely gives you insight into what family life was like during the Blitz and the struggles everyone had to face.
It's a heartwarming tale about the Brogan family who live in East End London. The main character Ida Brogan discovers a dark secret from her husband Jeremiah's past which threatens to destroy her marriage, however she has such a strong, supportive family that all band together during this tough time.
I found this book well written and I can tell that the author has clearly done a lot of research as it is very detailed. Not only was it an interesting story but also very educational. Overall, an enjoyable read!
