I have finally got round to reading this book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The story is set in the 1940’s London around World War 2 & the Blitz. I have never read a book by this author but I definitely would read them after my experience with this book. I thought this book was a nice easy read and I did really enjoy the storyline. It is a true insight as to how life would have been during this time and the struggles that would have faced with the bombings and rations. It took me back to stories told by my grandparents of ‘hard times’ and how families pull together to get through the daily struggles.
I liked Ida Brogan (main character) clearly a family orientated woman who is faced with the return of an old friend with a secret, that could ruin everything. This book did keep my interest and I was very intrigued to find out what happened and how things ended
