this is a well researched book both of the area and the daily lives of londoners during ww2. You want to know all about the family and their trials and tribulations as well as wanting to know what happens to other minor characters in the book. Once again Jean Fullerton draws you in with her well written easy going style. These books can be read in order or as a stand alone book. having read the previous book i did not know that it was part of a series about the same family and really look forward to reading the next instalment. The books very craftily get you involved with the life of this Irish family who call London home with its mixture of romance, poverty , rationing and the usual matriach of the family
