It was such a pleasure to meet the Brogan family again having first been introduced to them last year in A Ration Book Christmas. Jean Fullerton's family lived in London though the blitz and she must have heard many stories from them about that time and the lives of those who were fighting in the war. There are many books about the war and fighting however Jean Fullerton writes about what life was like for those in London at that time, a life that was filled with many hardships. Many adults were involved in war work of some kind while getting very little sleep due to the nightly bombing raids, then there was the rationing of the title to contend with necessitating queuing for food and counting points to get food and other essentials that were rationed. These books are a reminder of the suffering our ancestors endured and a reminder of the sacrifices made by the entire population. Very enjoyable and informative read.
