My children are home schooled and studying the war it was highly enjoyable well written and very informative as I am always looking to expand on resources and literature to teach with.
My sisters and I also studied the war and the war poets at college and thoroughly enjoy the era so reading a novel set during that time was really interesting.
The story was engaging and a typical “kitchen sink” family drama exposing secrets during a dark time in history.
Full of likeable and believable characters that readers can identify with it was like reading living history as my grandmother lived through WWII.
If I hadn’t have won this for a readers review it would definitely have been something I would have bought.
