absolutely love the fiesty characters,and the cover evokes warm nostalgia

I love the way the cover brings warm memories of nostalgic Christmases,the sort of book you could snuggle up with on a cold winters day.The characters really spring to life,with descriptions of both appearance and temperament,the feistiness of young Jo and her protectiveness of her young brother.The way the author describes the small minded attitudes of the locals towards the evacuees,and how it shows the struggles both her and her young beau in London are both struggling in their own way,but trying to get on with a normallity amongst the hardships they are going through,including the background of his family and the warm Eastend spirit of all in it together.I really can't wait to read more of this book and find out what becomes of each of the characters,definately a winter warmer book.
