Such a different perspective of Workd War Two, of rationing and of Christmas. You dont really think about a wartime Christmas and how different and difficult it would have been to obtain foods to celebrate with, decorations and clothes. Everything was rationed accept for 5he l8ve of a family. I was excited to read this book and I was not disappointed. It gave me a fresh perspective on civilian life and the struggles to create a magical day amongst the bloodshed and bombings. The book explores this within a family and how the youngest girl Jo falls in love with the wrong sort! Truly captivating. It was hard to put this book down as you were transpirted back to the forties I can picture the clothes, music and spirit of the blitz! A lovely Christmas read.
