I thoroughly enjoyed this book especially as I remember the ration book days,anyone who remember the wartime days with all the shortages will love this nostalgic book,and anyone younger will enjoy reading about the struggles of those days.Lots of humour within the Irish family and lots of laughs even though there is the seriousness of the blitz over London there is also lots of lightheartedness in the family loves and struggles.There are even some war time recipes in the back of the book which were used for their Christmas celebrations,I baked the fruit cake myself and it was certainly well received and will be baked again.A super book which is now being passed round to be enjoyed by my family.
