With the historical fiction and memoir like quality of "Call the Midwife", this cute seasonal novel that takes place during the World War 2 era was a fun read. Although this book did not provide an incredibly interesting plot, I still found it to be a fun read, giving me lots of heartbreak, laughter, and smiles as I felt myself wishing and longing for the Christmas season. I cannot explain really why I didn't like this book. Although it was fun and entertaining, it was kind of too serious during certain moments that felt they should be funny. I felt that I've read far too many books like this previously, so why feel I need to waste my time on this one? It was an easy enough read, but I don't plan to pick up another by this same author.
