Jean Fullerton is a favourite author of mine I always enjoy her books and I will enjoy this one.Set in the war years and about how families and communities came together to overcome difficulties and hardships they had to face, reminds me of stories my mother told me of her experiences of that time. I love reading books about this era. The author makes the characters so real that you almost feel that you know them personally. The book had me hooked from the start and I know I would find it hard to put down as I just have to know what will happen to Jo and her family and neighbours and will she carry on seeing Tom .What path will Tom take,will the two of them have a happy ending or go their separate ways.
