Love reading books about family spirit and communities coming together, during the war, find it lovely to read about how families pull together to enjoy special times despite the hardships and how they make do with the basics to ensure everyone has a good time.
Thus book gripped me as it was straight in to a family and you got to know each character and felt part of this family unit, and felt special that that you were taking part of their daily lives along with them.
I felt that I was rooting and hoping for things to go certain ways for members of the family and alongside the sadness that was happening still enjoyed the storyline and ended with a smile in my face.
