This story is very heavy in detail and true to the history of the happenings of world war two especially for those who didn't fight but who's lives were equally torn apart from troubling times of the past.
It is so heartwarming and a cosy read! It made me reflect upon the real bravery of those that fought hard during the war times and really gave me deep appreciation!
The relationships between the characters were so warm yet so real. It isn't what you expect from books like this, it is a must read. I absolutely loved the addition of the recipes in the back, even though i am too young to have lived through those years of war i felt a sense of nostalgia thinking my grandparents had to go through similar things.
