I was immediately drawn into this story and loved the quintessentially British themes from World War II. The descriptions are amusing and I think it will be a light and refreshing read perfect for delving into over the Christmas period. The dialogue between characters fits in perfectly with the war era and I am able to picture each character in my head based on their descriptions which is something I look for in a book. 17 year old Jo sounds like a character with a bit of a rebellious streak and I love that about young female leads. I am interested to see how her relationship with Tommy blossoms and how the rationing affects their Christmas. Having only the basic knowledge about this time period, I would like to learn more about how it affected different people.
