I haven't read any of Jane Fullerton's previous novels or books in this series, so I'm not sure whether reading this independently would have the same impact. Historical novels are not typically my chosen genre, but I do enjoy a love story, and the premise of this book definitely sounds moving and emotional. I also loved the fact that the book begins with a note to NHS staff - a very touching thought. I would definitely be interested in reading this book.
