This isn't a book I would normally pick up in regards to historical romance set in wartime, but I'm glad I could read the first impression. I liked the author's writing style and how she conveys Britain at the time in detail. It seems like a nice romantic novel and I'd like to know if Cathy can be with Sergeant Archie McIntosh or does her violent husband come back within the 6 months?
