considering that this is my first time on readersfirst, this book has definitely caught my eye! A strong mother attempting to escape her abusive husband highlights her independence and courage. Now that her husband is MIA, this reflects the hardships that many women had to face during her times, not only themselves but their children . It also shows how quickly life flashes before your eyes and she has to deal with this whilst living during WWII. Even though she has a lot on her plate she perseveres and strives as she is a tough cookie.This book seems like a big hit and a good read! I would love to see if she gets another chance at love.
