I like the fact that this book gives you an insight into the struggles of times gone by. As it states, you could not just go and get a divorce no matter what the state of your marriage, and to have to try and protect your child too during this and then war, it must have been very hard. I love reading stories about the past and always feel that no matter how hard we thing times are now, they are no where near as bad as they used to be.
