I love historical fiction and this book will not disappoint. I have read the two previous Ration Book stories and loved them. Set against the First World War, the characters and descriptions are so good you step back in time. This story line is one that was unspoken at the time. Domestic abuse and divorce were just not discussed sadly. Is it wrong to hope that a soldier mia stays that way ? Not this time!
