I'm not a massive fan of wartime sagas and I can't say that this first impression holds much appeal. The cover is too old-fashioned for my liking, and the synopsis and extract failed to capture my interest. I'm sure this book will be of interest to those who enjoy wartime sagas. It's just not to my personal taste.
