I really liked how the opening dialogue immediately placed you in the position of the main character, the descriptiveness helps the reader to immerse themselves with ease. This tells me that this is a book that you would easily get lost in.

As a lover of books based in the 40s, I can see how this book would be one that would be difficult to put down. The text is historically accurate and seems as though it will give a good fictional account of a side of history not covered as often as our own in lighthearted literature: Germany's.

I have visited Berlin and they are very open and empathetic about their history, I am an immediate fan of any book that describes what it was like for the average person to live in Germany during and following the Nazi reign. Those who didn't agree, but had to live under the circumstances anyway.
