my first impression of this was WOW. already i’m wondering how she will get on. what drawn me is that this probably is a true story for a lady/ladies around that time, longing for true love and a sense of independence! i love the cover too as it’s a true representation of times at war, mother with a baby, dressed to impress, although alone.
