A ration book daughter provides a fresh insight to life after the war. Initially the book shows how the war has effected people, weaving in the historical details quite cleverly. The main protagonists (Cathy and Archie) are both incredibly likeable and present characters that are independent, determined and kind yet face many challenges. After reading, I simply was gripped and could not wait to see how Archie's and Cathy's story would continue.
