Cathy volunteers with the Women's Voluntary Service providing clothing and essentials for those in need during the second world war. Her husband is away fighting and she lives with her mother in law and eighteen month old son. It soon becomes apparent that Cathy has hardships of her own. I was immediately taken with the quiet and resilient Cathy and wanted to learn more about her. Well written with believable characters.
