Yet again Jean Fullerton has written another fabulous and heartwarming book within the Ration Book Series. Each book within the series focuses on a different member of the Brogan Household through different times in World War Two.
As usual, the cover of the book is lovely and you would instantly recognise it as part of the Ration Book Series. A Ration Book Daughter follows one of the daughters of the Brogan household, Cathy, who is surviving the war by living with her difficult mother in law and bringing up her young son. With her abusive husband Stanley missing in action Cathy has to put up with the brunt of her manipulative and nasty mother in law whilst trying to survive herself. Cathy is enjoying the freedom from her husband when she crosses paths with her new lodger Archie. As the two get to know each other we are with them every step of the way as readers.
