I absolutely adore books that are set back in the war time era. Beautifully written, loved the cover, very eye catching. Jean certainly knows how to captivate her audience, as she takes us on a journey back to the past. I have read all of the ration series & absolutely love them. They give you a totally different perspective of the wartime, how families come together. I really enjoy catching up with the families and it feels like you're catching up with old friends. An absolutely charming series of books which I hope will go on forever. The kind of book I'd like to read sitting in front of a coal fire, toasting fork in hand, reminiscing with my grandparents about 'The good old days'. They could be read as standalones, but you need the whole experience as it were to find out about the Brogan family. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
