I've not read a lot of wartime romances so I was bit worried on what to expect but I was so excited when I won this book and I absolutely loved it!! I read it so fast! I was a bit sad to realise this was the 5th book in the series since I hadn't read the others but it was so interesting and relaxing to read. This book follows Cathy, a young mum living in London trying to look after her son in WW2. Her husband is missing in action because of the war and she is just patiently counting down the days when she can be declared a widow and be free. She then meets Sergeant Archie who she falls in love with and I adore their relationship!
Cathy is so nicely written and is such a likeable character and I love her dedication to her sons happiness. I've never read anything by the author, Jean Fullerton but I definitely want to buy the other books in the series and add them to my collection!
