I loved this book, read it in 4 days.
I was so excited that I won this book as when I read the First Impression it was one I wanted to buy with my points but I was too slow so hearing that I won was fantastic.
It did not let me down and I will be looking out for more books written by this author.
I quickly warmed to the 2 main characters Cathy and Archie. I hated Cathys mother-in-law.... and this is the first book that has made me feel like that.... all the way through the book I was spurring them on to get to get her but knew the challenge they faced.... and was dreading that he evil husband would return from war.
Was so pleased with the way it ended and smiled smugly along with Cathy when mother in law violet got what was coming to her.
I would and have highly recommended this book to all other readers who love a good page turner. Historic books are not usually my thing but this really added to the atmosphere.
