After enjoying A Ration Book Wedding, I couldn't wait to carry on reading about the Brogan family and this book carries on a couple of months after the last one finishes, this time through the eyes of Cathy.
The atmosphere written in the book makes you feel as if you are actually there and shows the impact war had on people in London at that time and this time shows the heroics of the bomb disposal squad.
I adore Queenie Brogan, her personality and straight talking had me laughing throughout the book, especially when she confronts Violet at the church meeting. And speaking of Violet, she is so awful to poor Cathy and I'm glad she finally got her commupence and shown her son for what he is and freed Cathy.
I look forward to reading more in this series when the next book comes out and would definately recommend to people who enjoy historical fiction.
