Well what can I say about this Brogan tale. I have read many of the series if not all of these now and I love the mix of war time London drama working class life and the Brogan family. I was soooo glad Stan was replaced by Sgt Macintosh and I loved the build up of their relationship. I have noted that the author gives her male characters loveable traits which women instantly fall for and I love the back stories as well. I also particularly enjoyed the fact that Violet Wheeler totally got what she deserves and she shows he’s true colours. Interesting that the catholic Mrs Padget was so racist and really didn’t give Cathy the benefit of the doubt due in no small part to violet of course but she played a nasty character as did Lt Mortimer. I really enjoy The authors bad characters because she describes their behaviour and characteristics so well you can literally imagine them as people. Highly recommended another great read
