I enjoyed reading "A Ration Book Daughter". I have read a few of the previous books in the Ration Book series and found this one similar. I like that you get to learn a little bit about what it was like to live in London during the war. In this book a main character is a member of the bomb disposal squad, so it was interesting reading a little bit about that. I find the stories a little predictable but quite like that you know things will probably work out in the end for the Brogan family. I skim rear some pages of the book where there was more detail than I was interested in and, as with previous Ration Book stories, find there is sometimes a bit too much repetition of an idea in this case that Archie finds Cathy attractive. That said I found myself feeling really angry at the characters of Violet and Monkman, though maybe a little bit sorry for them aswell, which is always I good sign when I book elicits strong emotions! I am sure I will read the next book in the series.
