This book drew me in immediately. I felt as if it woukd not going to be a very sorrowful book about this era more of a mixture of sad and joy, but more of a story that was like a roller-coaster of emotions. The author managed to build a picture in my mind as the story went on. Ensuring enough detail was there for you to picture and feel the story and the characters..
I wanted to keep reading and reading. I printed off a copy and passed to my mother in law as this is the type of book she loves. She was disappointed there wasn't anymore she could read. Like me she loves books about this time and both admitted that after reading the bit we had it looks as though this is going to be a good book. . I would definitely go out and purchase this and my mother in law has said she would too.
