After reading the short extract I was hooked.
The Author does a magnificent job with her words-making the reader feel you are right there in the story and her characters really come alive in your mind.
It was interesting to experience life in London during the blitz-a horror one cannot imagine-and the work the various groups and volunteers do.
As the story unfolds you get an insight into their lives and you want and hope there will be a good ending but you also experience the bad side of life especially through a women's eyes and how they had to make ends meet whilst suffering at the hand's of certain men.
This is a book that once started you cannot put down because you want to find out what will happen next and the story of the men in the Bomb Disposal Unit adds intrigue!
At first this may not appeal to a male audience but believe me you are missing something if you do not give a go.
