I am probably at a bit of a disadvantage because I have not read any of the previous books in the series and so I did find parts of the first thirty pages a little confusing. There were so very many christian names mentioned that it was difficult to remember who was who , but I am sure that as the story progresses things become clearer. Detailed descriptions of the settings provided a lively picture of East End life in wartime London in this warm hearted story , but I have to admit that this type of novel is not really my cup of tea .
