The cheery cover sets the scene beautifully, war time clothing, girls arm in arm, and the bunting are all so evocative and so appropriate for the story.
I've never read any of this series, or any of Jean Fullerton's books - something that must be remedied immediately. I loved this story. The characters are so credible and endearing. The subtle twists and turns of the plot flow along so smoothly, it is easy to read, comfortable too, and you so quickly become absorbed by the plot that it flies by. A super book!
