I was worried about this book as it seemed to be one of a series I had not read; however, it didn't detract from my following the storyline of the book. I liked the different timeline elements of the book. The cover I found a bit old fashioned looking and wouldnot have inspired me to pick up the book; I also found the use of young women on the cover confusing given that the storyine (so far) has flicked between Queenie's childhood and old age.
