This is the end to the 'A Ration Book' series so I was expecting a lot and I wasn't disappointed. I like how everyone's stories seemed to wrap up well and I loved how Jean Fullerton took us back in time to understand Queenie and Father Mahon's story back when they were better known as Philomena and Patrick. Their relationship is so special and there's so much history between them that needed to be fully shared. This insight in to Queenie's past showed more about her character due to her lost love which I feel was necessary to bring this book to a solid conclusion and put everything in to place well. I feel the way the series is written means you don't necessarily need to read each installment as it all makes sense and the author does a good job of making each book just as good as a standalone. I really enjoyed getting to know the Brogan family but Queenie was the star of the show for me. Overall, a great read.
