This has been a brilliant series. i have followed the characters since the very first installment and the author has never disappointed. The Brogan's have been a family that any-one could relate to. With chapters taking you through the war and the trials and tribulations of all the family - from births, marriages and deaths, to people joining up to fight in the war, feuds between members of the same family and with neighbours, to trying to cope with war time rations and spending time in the air raid shelters, these books have it all.
I don't think the author could have carried on this series any longer and although this meets the same expectations as the others in the series I am glad it has now ended rather than drag through another book which would have spoiled the set.
Needless to say this episode takes us to the end of WWII and the joys of the victory in europe parties. I would urge every one to read these
