As the last book in the Ration Book series, A Ration Book Victory sees the Brogan family facing the last months of the war before finally being able to celebrate VE day. You hear about each of Queenie's children and grandchildren and how they are coping during rationing, being parted from loved ones and surviving the bombing of London. As war comes to end it's good to hear how they have all come through and heart warming to read about their love for each other. Throughout the book you are periodically taken back in time to Queenie's youth and her love for her childhood sweetheart. This is a true love story that endures such heart breaking circumstances yet never wanes despite the passing of so many years. When the truth finally comes out it gives closure for some and the Brogan family are able to face the future together. In this Jubilee year we are reminded of the British spirit and what so many endured during the war years.
