A Ration Book Victory is the last in the Ration Book series about the Brogan family by Jean Fullerton. This excellent author has made hr characters so real and easy to relate to and every single one of the readers is going to miss the regular news about the Brogan family. At the start of A Ration Book Victory was is coming to an end and the family are looking forward to a time when they can all be together again. Queenie, the matriarch of the family, grew up in Ireland alongside Partick Mahon. Both Queenie, along with her family, and Patrick, now Father Mahon, find themselves in the East End of London and, now getting older, remain firm friends. However there is more to their story which the author relates in snippets throughout the book. The eldest three Brogan girls all married although one marriage was not successful however all three are now in loving relationships and looking forward to a more settled existence. Charlie, the oldest son, is in the army and the Brogans, as well as his wife Francesca, can't wait to welcome him home, There are still three younger children bringing challenges for the Brogans to deal with. The Brogans are going to be sadly missed however I'm sure it won't be long until Jean Fullerton introduces a wonderful new cast to her faithful readers.
