Jean Fullerton has done it again, what a fantastic book! Found it hard to put down it was so good, was a very emotional read too in places. I loved how it went back in time to explain all about Queenie (Phillomena) and her life back in Ireland and her relationship with the now priest father Mahon. As well as her life as a mum, gran and great gran living in war torn London, and living through the last few months of war. It delves into the lives of young and old, losing loved ones and new lives being born into an uncertain age. Jean Fullerton knows how to write in such a beautiful and meaningful way, and such a powerful read that makes you want to carry on and not put it down. The ending does not disappoint either, even though it is a tear jearker towards the end, it makes it well worth the read, and also wanting to read another, hopefully Jean Fullerton will do more.
