if war stories are your thing then i really do recommend this book to you. its a nice easy read that you can take on journeys or something for the train after work! you can put it down and not read it for a week and feel like it is not even been that long. a real pick me up when the country was at war. it gives a feel of the times and what it must of been like to be a young woman and watching all the men you ever knew to leave this country and to go and fight not knowing weather you will ever see them again. a real insight into the day to day lives of the women who were left behind and what they had to do day to day. most people will think they had the easy job of staying at home but there was so much that they could do to help the cause and they really did put their all into knowing that their dads, brothers, sons etc where far away fighting for them. a real eye opener. please do read
