This series of books have a really distinctive style and I find the covers quite eye-catching. I have read some but not all in this series before, however although this is the end of the series it works as a standalone book because the important bits are recapped. It was great to get to learn Queenie's back story. It was a bit predictable what the secret was going to be but still interesting to see it all unfold. As well as the main story there were also some interesting side stories. For example exploring Billy's relationship with his birth mother and his adoptive family. The end of the war scenes were really fun to read about and contrasted with the sadder bits of the story well. I am probably not interested enough to go back and read all of the series but I have enjoyed the ones I've read and would be interested in others by the same author. Overall a good read.
