This book is a brilliant end to the Queenie Brogan series, following them through every milestone in their remarkable lives and making you feel like you're a part of the family thanks to Jean Fullerton's fantastic writing. I was really really pleased to get my hands on a copy of this book, thank you very much Readers First!
Now the war has ended, it's the ideal time to end the series but I'm also sad to see the Brogan's go/ not to have any more books. The design of the covers is consistent, so it looks great on your bookshelf, and it's actually a great way to learn about history and how people lived through fictional characters, as obviously there is some factual correlation in how people lived during the war years. Jean Fullerton writes with conviction about the struggles that people faced, the fears, uncertainties but also their determination to keep all and carry on.
