I have read quite a lot of wartime books recently, of varying genres and it would be interesting to read this one to gain a different perspective.
This is clearly a romantic novel, set in world war 2 which has the added interest of seeing what life was like for women left behind in the war. It was a time of great change and so it will be interesting to see if Francesca’s ideals and desires change as the story unfolds.
