This isn't the typical genre of book I'd pick up at first glance. I'm not a fan of historical novels and this jumps out at me as being old fashioned. The cover especially depicts a wartime scene which doesn't particularly appeal to me.
From the first look however, it does seem to be a book that's easy to read and not too complex. The story might draw you in with the descriptive writing.
