A different historical read - a lovely true to fact romantic tale

I love to read war time stories and I love romance so to be completly I was expecting to like this book and I was not wrong. The whole plot is very highly researched and I could feel the emotions of each character and it really got me thinking what those in the war had to go through. We don't often think about life outside the war that went on such as weddings, family affairs and home life but it was something that was a bit part of the era especially in the eyes of working class people.

It is an overall lighthearted read but at the same time has so much depth, it makes you think and there are little twists and things are uncovered about the characters, their lives and their past. I would reccommend to anyone.
