This was not something I would normally pick from the front cover but having started I thought I would give it a go. Genuinely I couldn’t put it down and was done reading it in a couple of days. I really disliked Stella from the off and I think I knew she would be that character right from the start. There are lots of different emotions for this book and the war detail is excellent and made it feel like you really were there with them in the midst of war ravaged London. I liked the way that the love story ended and the rerouting in the middle of the book with Leo who I genuinely felt sorry for but also a little like Fran was his prize rather than his wife to be which I can understand why Fran acts as she does. All in all A lovely Book with the right ending.
